Preview of Summer

Domino is home sick from school today. He managed to pick up a case of Conjunctivitis-Otitis Media Syndrome (a fancy name for a simultaneous bacterial inner ear and pink eye infection) and is missing one of his last days of school before summer vacation.

It's been a LONG day (and it's only 3PM). I long ago lost track of how many times he has said "Mom, can I tell you something?" He has a constant verbal stream of consciousness that requires audience participation from me and it's starting to get on my nerves. Do I really need to know more NASCAR factoids? Do I really need the play by play of his computer game? I'm trying to get him to realize that not every thought that enters his head needs to come out of his mouth, but so far that's not sinking in and I've got my own little Al Michaels in the house.

He should have enough antibiotics in his system to return to school tomorrow, but this mini-summer preview is highlighting my need to get a summer game plan in place to save my sanity.
