I decided to make the boys a new "mixed CD" this morning because I am so terribly sick of the ones we currently listen to in the car. Keep in mind, I drive 30 minutes each way to kindergarten so that's about 2 hours of kid stuff each day I have the "pleasure" of listening to. It gets old REALLY QUICK.
I got on Amazon to download some cheap kids MP3s and you can imagine my reaction when I saw this:

Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of Nine Inch Nails
Remember that 20 year old girl from the last post who was having a mental breakdown in the corner? I think this CD put her in the asylum.
Not only do they make Nine Inch Nails lullabies, but it's apparently a whole new market of lullabies. They make lullaby albums with songs from The Rolling Stones, Led Zepplin, The Cure, Smashing Pumpkins, Metallica, Nirvana, U2, Tool, Green Day, Cold Play and Bjork just to name a few.
I haven't decided if this is the most brilliant product or one of the most frightening. Obviously, I am not the only parent out there who misses the music of a different time in their life and someone has found a rather interesting way to incorporate that music into the new chapter of their life.
But I find the thought of someone humming along to "Closer" while cuddling their new little baby really creepy.

They are a little creepy, but for the most part, they are cool. Yeah, "Closer..." that might bee TOO creepy. Did you listen to any of them? On their official website you can listen to snippets of all the CDs. I wish they would make a Pearl Jam one.
